Anyone know how to get the Netgear Mp101 to use WPA encryption? My network is secure and I feel really worried about adding the Netgear Mp101 because that would be my weakest link in the network. Everybody knows that almost every amateur can hack Wep 128k in under 4 hours. I've done it to my previous wireless setup to prove a point. I'm sure a pro, or somebody that has malicious intentions can do it much much faster.

But I haven't heard anything about novices hacking WPA. I've never heard of an 802.11b device supporting WPA.

If it's even possible (I'm not an expert on the 11b/11g specs), we'd most likely need a firmware upgrade from Netgear anyway, and we all know how likely that is. Now about the time I make a statement like this, someone figures out how hack it, so consider this an official challenge. If you are that concerned about a possible security breach, I'd recommend considering a length of CAT5. -Brad --- In, 'Vernon V Chatman III' wrote: >I'm not positive, but WPA precludes 11b. That and I would like to use my laptop anywhere in the house. (a 50ft ethernet cord would probably solve the same problem more cheaply and more securely, but that would be no fun:-) ) ciao!
